- I woulnd´t risk anything for that chance...but it is true when time to die arrives probably I will want to live "a little more" to see how the World changes.
If we take into account the new skin banks and the development of genetics living forever is not an illusion but just a real possibility: you just have to change those cells that die for new clonned cells.
Trees have done it for thousands of years and you can find trees which are 3,000 years old...

- Living Forever Not Just a Dream
HAPPINESS on earth—it does not seem possible to enjoy it even for a short time. Sickness, aging, hunger, crime—to mention only a few problems—often make life miserable. So, you may say, to talk about living forever in paradise on earth is to close your eyes to the truth. You may feel that it is a waste of time to talk about it, that living forever is just a dream.
No doubt most people would agree with you. So, then, why can we be so sure that you can live forever in paradise on earth? Why can we believe that everlasting life is not just a dream?
We can believe because a Supreme Power, Almighty God, prepared the earth with everything needed to satisfy what we want. He made the earth just perfect for us! And he created man and woman in the best way for them to enjoy life to the full in this earthly home—forever.—Psalm 115:16.
Scientists have long known about the human body’s power to renew itself. By wonderful means the body cells are either replaced or repaired, as the need may be. And it seems that this process of self-renewal should go on forever. But it does not, and this is something that scientists cannot explain. They still do not fully understand why people grow old. They say that, under right conditions, humans should be able to live forever.—Psalm 139:14.
Yet, is it really God’s purpose that people live happily on earth forever? If it is, then everlasting life is not just a wish or a dream—it is sure to come! What does the Bible, the book that tells of God’s purposes, say about the matter? It calls God “the Former of the earth and the Maker of it,” and adds: “He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited.”—Isaiah 45:18.

- i am christian so i believe that the world wont last forever.
however even if it did, to live forever would be a hellish fate, and why anyone would want to is beyond me. think how repetitive things get when you live normally. now think how annoying it would be to have to do the basic things you do everyday for all eternity.
sounds painful no?

- To live forever as a human. I'd risk nothing. To avoid the hum drum happy ever after I'd risk my life. Nothing more valuable. Even if I had it.

- I don't think anyone would want to live forever or eternity. There to much tissure damage when freezing a body no matter how quickly. And there would be to much tissue damage thawing out the body. As for as death goes I figure I am as close to death every time I go to sleep.

- Here's to RT keeping the light-hearted topics going! And I especially enjoyed the piece last night about the unfortunate Underground station "female entertainers" in London and Moscow. Both should have achievement awards!
On the subject at hand I would risk a parachute jump: provided I'd negotiated the "live forever bit" in advance :-)
There's nothing I'd give up tho' because that would be a LONG TIME to have to live without it!

- to get eternal life ?
just nothing !
without any religious beliefs laying on the way , what is point to live for ever when so many are allways postponing the reach for happyness ?
life is too short not to take all the joy and fun anyone can have ...
if the end wouldn't exist , what would be the point to have a start ?

- I think its a fairly useless topic RT has chosen.
Compared to the appalling problems Russia is facing such as the demographic catastrophe and the acute health crises, such useless topics are being posted by I don;t know whom.
Are the russian elites so heartless, cruel and nihilists that they do not care at all about the future of russian people.
The miniscule amounts being spend on the national projects especially in the fields of health and education are shocking.
During the 1990s when the energy prices were low and russia was in the hands of gangsters and anarchists, one could explain away the crises, but now when russia boasts third largest currency reserves and stable state, why is the death rate so appalling.
Why is not enough being done to discuss and propose solutions to this most urgent problem by RT.
Why cannot Al Gurnov and Lavalle and others discuss these problems in more details.
Why don't they invite economists, church leaders, psychologists and well-wishers of Russia to find out how this problem can be dealth with in long term.
I am not even sure whether my post will be posted but this is the most burning issue every russian and especially RT should be thinking about rather than decadent pop singers and other silly news.
Does RT have the courage to publish its own criticism on its onw website. Are my words not honest? Do my words not look like they are coming from a well-wisher of Russian people.

Dear Sanjay,
You have asked several questions in your post, and we'll try to answer them in detail.
1) As you might have noticed, we cover all kinds of stories related both to Russia and Russian life and to current events worldwide. The stories we cover are sometimes very serious and sometimes more light-hearted. We really think our viewers and readers, who have many interests, expect us to tell all kinds of news. Our forum policy reflects it too. So no, we don't think this topic is useless. If you come up with a forum topic, please, suggest it.
2) The funny thing about demography is that changing the situation takes decades, which many tend to forget. You can't just launch a governmental project to make people have more babies and expect results in a year or two. [It's something many countries are struggling with] Also, we hope our dedicated viewers know that RT has focused on Russia's demographic problems more then once. We really don't avoid painful issues.
3) And finally, no, we are not afraid of broadcasting criticism of Russia, our Government, the FSB, Vladimir Putin, and anybody and anything else on our website. Especially now, when the whole department of sinister FSB agents in plainclothes are on leave - sorry, just kidding. What we don't allow are offensive comments to other readers, Russia, the Government etc.
We hope this helps.
With kind regards,
RTTV website team

- There are two elements to life, body and spirit. As a Christian I believe my spirit will live on. However, even the most well preserved bodies ( anything material) will decay. So I don't believe you can preserve a physical body forever. Ofcourse, you could always seek reincarnation.

- While watching a futuristic serial on another channel, one comes across a character 5 billion years in the future,on the day the earth DIED, pegged like a tent, and almost 2000 years old!
The fact of the matter is, brain and brawn are like opposies sides to a coin.
One without valid functioning of the other is utterly useless and brings more misery than joy, both to those that possess it and those around the possessor.
Thus freezing the brain without corresponding advances in life sciences, will not prompt me to advance my case for IMMORTALITY.
However if things change, who knows...?
