- Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
Germany plays one of leading roles in Europe and has much political & economical weight to pressure their own interests, most political figures will make politically correct decisions and they are for most part not people of principals. Chancellor Merkel will remain friendly to Russia to secure interests and investments of Germany and they invest in Russia a lot. As is the "smoothing relations" is convenient for Germany and EU in their attempt to receive $$$.000000 benefits if Russia caves in their demands.
I see smoke but not the fire. The made up political relations are insignificant and could be explained by simple business competition and conflict of interest. Soon Russia will look into East Asia and find answers & solutions to tasks at hand and EU will get leftovers or fewer benefits that are offered today.
Best Regards

- Being a major economic and political power in Europe, and internationally, Germany could mediate the missle shield dispute. Keep in mind that Germany was once divided by NATO and The Warsaw Pact. And Angela Merkel claims to be a conservative like President Bush.

- Perhaps on the business side of things they will set an example on how a cooperative approach to Russia can be more beneficial to all involved instead of an antagonistic one. I do not trust the German political system to take this approach as long as America is in the picture.

- Germany will do little. The US has only one goal and that is world domination by any means necessary. Treaties with the US are good only until the ink dries on the paper, Americas word means nothing. America will simply twist the thumb screws they have on Germany and they will comply. It is a pointless qeustion.

- Germany has an interest in promotion of strong political/Economic ties with Russia! However, it has strong ties and commitments to its geo/economic partners like USA, UK and France among others too! As long Neo-cons and their likes decide US near-suicidal foreign policies, the most others can do, is to make conciliatory noises and very little else, I'm afraid!
