- Will all the chosen candidates have the opportunity to put their case on prime time TV? And will the votes be counted fairly?
As long as that happens then good luck to whoever the Russian people chose as their president.

- I do not think so.
I think, that next president will be anyone during short time, and Mr Putin will be back ;)

- I think it does not matter. This is a Russian, internal affair, just as the U.S. election is a U.S. affair, only. Those people other than Russian, should stay out of Russian politics. Also,if you are not American, you should as well, stay out of American politics!

- Viktor might become President. Putin will decide who keeps his chair warm, I think Putin will return in 2012. Nicely in time to "lord it" over Sochi in 2014.
You can't keep a good dictator down.

- If he proves him self a good prime minister then the people may vote for him why not??........

- Olga, I somehow disagree with you. I do not think that people in power need to simulate any event to get there, simply because they are already there. Just look at the constitution (I mean the number of deputes belonging to each political party) of the sate Duma.

- I think that he will be a president for a year and than he will retire because of you know some health problems and the next president there will be Putin again
- fred September 17, 2007, 12:55
- oleg , i do not really agree with your comment ...
it will be russian people choice ...!
off-course , they could be manipulated one way or another ...
but they will have the last word on topic !
and if by any "chances" they accept something which is not THEIRS choice , it is theirs problem ...!
there is absolutely no difference in the democratic process in russia or wherever , people decide then assume , or throw out the "unchoosen" ones ...
this is one of the price to get "political maturity" ...
what are the chances for a system or country to change , if its own people let anything happen and then comment it by a " it has always been like that here ..."
this remark is valid for any country in the world , USA , france or UK !
- oleg September 17, 2007, 08:03
- It's all up to Putin,as who will be the next President.
