I think everyone must calm down. Beslan, like so many other terrorist incidents, the theatre, the bring down of the civilian aircraft are just a few additonal incidents that we are all forgetting, have been the most terrible incidents. Incidents that will affect these families for ever. Let us respect the dead and those who survived and alwaysremember them when raising your glasses.
For those who distrust Putin may I suggest that for once in your life get a grip and put your faith in Putin. He has done well to pull Russia from the ashes. If his government has said that all but one of these perpetrators were killed, so be it. But, there is just one person we have all forgot - the orgistrator of the Beslan incident who is resting nicely (thankyou very much!!!) in England whomthe Russian Government has been trying in vain to have extradited to stand trial.
Russia, some years ago asked for international recognition to the terrorist problem as been a global issue but this was refused as it did not affect (good old) USA and England.
Russia is doing all it can, on its own, to sort out this problem. These terrorists are getting all the help they want from outside countries, this is no secret. England is a good example of this - check out history in particular African history and you will get many of your answers to today's problems.
Please, let us remember and not insult, and generate our energy in a useful and productive manner.

Here we go AGAIN "Al" Puking out the same OLD Russian talking points as usual. Seems to me Putin went ahead to build the Iranian Nuclear reactor after the west begged them not to. Seems to me that Russia has "NEVER" voted in favor of western countries on the UN security counsel on resolutions involving terrorism! Seems to me Russia is arming the terrorist group Hamas to the teeth. Seems to me the favorite weapon of all terrorists is the Russian AK-47. Hey AL where are the picture's and graves of these dead killers of children? Or are we are just supposed to take the "trustworthy" Russian Governments word that justice was served? I "WANT PROOF"...prove it to me Einstein, Al!

Dino. Spewing nonsense again, you should really educate yourself about what has happened since Beslan and what happened there.

1. All but one of the terrorists involved in Beslan are pushing up daisys somewhere. The sole survivor is in prison for life. There wasn't much left to arrest.

2. Just about every terrorist Chechen that was in power at that time is once again, dead. It seems they do not want to be taken prisoner or the Russians are not really interested in arresting them. I cannot disagree.
Chechneya is rebuilding, there is some squabbling still going on but progress is being made, more so than in Iraq by a long shot.
Putin does all he can to disrupt efforts? Where's your proof?
If Putin wanted to disrupt things there would be MANPADS and Kornet missiles and RPG-29s in Iraq you fool. You're depriving some village of its idiot, go home.

The Russians are cracking down again, they have not totally defeated the Chechen fighters and never will probably but it is not what it used to be.

Erm, well my comments were really directed at Russia's domestic policies. In actual fact Russia and Britain co-operated very little on anti-terrorism on a day-to-day basis. That doesn't mean that I don't believe Putin wouldn't come to the aid of the West if the need arose, it's just that Russia isn't harbouring any terrorist threat to the west.
And Putin is well aware, despite public pronouncements about Akhmed Zakayev, that the same applies the other way round.

"Sevodnya_Net" Is 100 percent correct! I can't understand why Russia can't cooperate and help the western country's to fight our common enemies the "Radical Muslims" on the war against terrorism. Both the USA and Russia has been the target's of the same extremists many times over the years, it is in both of our interests to cooperate and work together. I would like know what Putin has done to track down those responsible for that horrific school shootings of innocent people? I have not heard ANYTHING! Has anyone EVER been arrested? That should be priority number one! Yet Putin does every thing he can to disrupt the USA's and other western countries efforts to combat this scourge! Solidarity is a JOKE! Something has to be done and you can say the the USA is NOT doing the right thing in the Middle East...WELL at least the USA is doing "SOMETHING"! If we had just a little cooperation with Russia then maybe we could all focus our efforts in the "RIGHT" direction to fight this "EVIL" called radical Muslim Fundamentalism!

A day of solidarity against terrorism? What on earth is that supposed to be about? Let's be honest about this, when the Russian govt talk about terrorism they mean "nasty Chechens". Call me a wizened old cynic, but I can't help noticing that the number of reports of violence in the north Caucasus has gone up recently. Anyone would think elections were due. Meanwhile I seem to remember that, for what it's worth, the Kremlin has recently ceased "co-operation with Britain over anti-terrorism". Not much solidarity there, I fear.

Regulation, education, creating revulsion in the minds of the people regards terrorism. Terrorism should be of the diplomatic kind involving non-violence and straight talk!
