GET IT OFF YOUR CHEST - Another Russian billionaire, Alisher Usmanov, has followed in the footsteps of Roman Abramovich and invested big money in a Premier League club - this time Arsenal. Is a trend developing? If so, what are the benefits for the investor?

Speaking as an Arsenal fan I must say I hope that Mr Usmanov does NOT gain control of our club. In fact, it would seem that battle lines are drawn for a struggle for ownership of the club come next April.
And our manager has come out against a philosophy of ultra-high spending typified by clubs such as Chelsea, which has grossly inflated the transfer market.
It's certainly not true that English premier clubs need wealthy investors just as much as they need us

The davantages are to both sides. The English football teams need invesments and the Russian rich need safe investment havens, thus a WIN WIN situation for both!
