- Where the law is broken a "bride-kidnapping" shouldn't be exempt because it is a "cultural peculiarity".
Where any law is broken anywhere no one should be exempt for reasons of culture or anything else.
That way we can preserve certain aspects of certain traditions and still protect the vulnerable.

- The practice is barbaric.Much of the world need a Russia in the 21st century.Only with the present president has Russia achieved some respect. Why continue with a practice that consider women just an object.

- Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
"Should a tradition like bride kidnapping... should it be considered wrong" Yes
It is cultural dysfunctions. I met a few people that went through that. Plot: She didn't like him, so naturally he kidnapped her, and soon after she pregnant he left her, without paying alimony.
Marriage arrangements between parents were once substantiated by Blessing of your parents... how about it?
Best Regards

- It can be staged as part of a marriage ceremony with mutual consent of all parties. That way the tradition can be preserved. However forcful kidnapping most be illigal.
I would like to made an example i saw during my travel in west Africa.A couple would be dating for years but at the traditional wedding ceremony the grooms family goes to the brides home asking for "a girl" for thier son.All the girls in the family are paraded for them to pick the one they like for their son. Then a bride price is discussed.which is in old pre-colonial useless currency. Now that is what i call a good attempt at preserving tradition in the modern world.
