Russian avant-garde rooted in Pre-Raphaelites?
What do British Pre-Raphaelites and Russian avant-gardists of the early 20th century have in common? Strange as it may seem, quite a lot – from composition to the palette. Christie’s auction house has brought selected works by Pre-Raphaelite brothers to Moscow, which are now on display for the first time at the Tretyakov gallery.
