A group of gamers have shown up a Russian motor racing champion during a virtual race to road-test a computer game. Vitaly Petrov, who’s won the Valencia and Malaysian GP-2 events, came last in most of the virtual races.
The 23-year-old, two-time Russian Lada Cup winner's racing credentials meant little as he was pitted against the gamers.
He finished in last place for most of the races during the "Final Four" showdown, after the other 12 participants were eliminated from the running.
Vitaly Petrov is one of the few to represent Russia on the global motoring circuit. He races in the GP-2 series and hopes one day to be a Formula 1 star.
The GP-2 series is a kind of motor racing which aims to prepare drivers for Formula One. Many current Formula One stars, including Lewis Hamilton and two time champion Fernando Alonso, have come through GP-2.
