Anastasia Churkina
Anastasia Churkina is a correspondent for Russia Today.
She joined RT's group of reporters after working in the newsroom for more than a year.
Inside Russia, Nastia travels all over the country, covering stories on burning issues such as the development of the Arctic, childhood cancer, Russia's nuclear programme and the demographic decline.
Anastasia also brings RT viewers up to date with news from abroad. She's covered stories in the US, Japan, China, Iran, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan - often during visits to these countries by the Russian President and the Foreign Minister.
She was the sole reporter giving updates from an aeroplane ramp in Tehran during Sergey Lavrov's talks with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Anastasia regularly covers stories live, bringing the latest news from hot-spots at home and overseas. Whether its the UN General Assembly in New York or a CIS summit in Dushanbe, a courtroom drama in St Petersburg or a boardroom battle in Moscow, Nastia can be relied upon to give accurate, up-to-the-minute reports live from the scene.
After spending almost ten years studying in Belgium, Canada, and the US, Anastasia graduated from the Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO) as an International Law specialist.
Apart from her native Russian, Anastasia speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish.
In her free time, she enjoys photography, travelling, contemporary literature and art.
