Natalya Soboleva

Natalya Soboleva is a Sports Presenter at Russia Today.

She was born in Moscow and has a degree in Russian Literature and Linguistics.

She began her career in journalism with the Russian sports channel NTV Plus, where she developed her skills in broadcast journalism, presenting and commentating.

Natalya believes her greatest highlight in sports to date was having a photo taken with NBA star Vince Carter at the All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, with her head reaching to about his waistline. She says working as a tennis commentator at many tournaments, including US Open, was also fun.

For a few years she was host of her own weekly talk show with famous Russian athletes, and admits hockey player Pavel Bure and figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova were those who suffered the most from her questions.

A list of Natalya’s favourite writers (Hitchcock, Dostoyevsky and Roy Jones Jr.) speaks volumes about her versatile nature.
