Sophie Shevardnadze

Sophie has been a News Presenter since the channel's launch in 2005, and in January 2007 also began presenting the popular programme "Culture Fair"  which looks at the cultural side of modern Russia.

Sophie began her career in television after graduating with a masters in journalism from NYU.

While in New York, she worked at ABC as an associate producer,  and special features reporter  for  Georgian TV channel, Imedi . One of the highlights of her reporting career was the coverage of the Rose Revolution in Georgia.

Sophie also holds a BA in film from Boston and a diploma from International piano conservatory of Paris.

She devotes most of her spare time to film and is enthralled by Asian filmmakers. Her other interests include  reading, listening to jazz  and  classical music and  enjoyimg Georgian food.

She is fluent in Georgian, Russian, English, French and Italian.
