Another NHL star returns home

Latvian ice hockey legend Sandis Ozolinsh has returned home after 16 years in the NHL.

The 36-year-old has signed a one-year deal with Dinamo Riga, the club where he began his career back in 1990.

The official presentation of Ozolinsh will take place on Tuesday in the Latvian capital, and on July 23 he’ll kick off preparations for the KHL season with his new partners.

Ozolinsh played for the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and New York Rangers.

He earned 564 points (167 goals + 397 assists) in his 875 games in the NHL.

He lifted the Stanley Cup once, together with Colorado Avalanche in 1996.
