KHL clubs in hunt for Stanley Cup winners

Two players from the Pittsburg Penguins, who took the Stanley Cup last week in a dramatic seven-game thriller against Detroit, may leave the U.S. for KHL this summer, Sportbox.ru reports.
Metallurg Magnitogorsk is interested in Czech Petr Sykora, who played 76 games for the Pens this season, scoring 25 goals and 21 assists.
The club’s contract with the player has expired and, according to his agent, the team is not going to offer him a new agreement.
Sikora has already played for Magnitogorsk during the NHL lockout in 2004-05. He scored 18 goals and 13 assists in 31 games back then.
Magnitka, who got to the semifinal of the KHL (Continental Hockey League) play-offs last season, is also in talks with Washington Capitals star Sergey Fedorov.
Another Stanley Cup winner, Miroslav Satan, is wanted in Kazakhstan by Barys hockey club. The Astana team is ready offer a two year contract worth $6 million to the Slovak player.
Satan, who’s also a free agent now, scored 17 goals (19 assists) for the Penguins in the regular season and added 1 goal (4 assists) in the playoffs, spending several months in the team’s AFL farm-club.
The possibility of the 34-year-old joining Barys is high, as the aged player is unlikely to receive such a rich offer in the NHL.
