Yes I think it would be nice if we could make high speed trains in Russia. But my view, is that it should be a sound buiness, not just a me too business. In the global commercial world, maybe Russia should come with something different in terms of high speeds trains, or concentrate on other Industries where it has a lead e.g Reliable space transportation. In all business, Russia should look for commercial success. This could be in trains, cars, rockets, planes.... but whatever we choose, we must be commercially astute. Trains may be a great idea, I am not saying it isn't. However, we really need to look at all the parameters of such a business, before ploughing money into it. In terms of keeping the railway customers happy for now, I am sure a German train, does just fine, because whatever anyone says, those Germans are very good engineers.
its good to see that various modernization measures are being undertaken by the Russian railways to improve the transportation sector in Russia. However, It would be much better to see high speed transportation systems like these being designed and manufactured inside Russia.
Well overdue, Russian rail is nothing to talk about, hard to imagine for a country that size. Now the moscow metro is another thing, that should be a world heritage site, no better metro in the world, an art work in itself.
Why didn't they does this ages ago. China has invested in infastructure projects for years like these Bullet trains and the three Gorges dam. The next step should be developing high speed trains across the Siberian into China.
Next time I go to Russia I will definitely make a trip Moscow-St. Petersburg- Moscow on this train!!! As I know these trains should go to Sochi in the near future...
Great to see! and a real step in the right direction for us. These trains are common place in places like Germany, I will certainly be glad to ride on this train. We need good infrastructure. But I also hope we keep some of our old rolling stock, for special trips, as they are a completely, day's gone by experience, for some.
