CSKA ends Loko’s cup run

CSKA has reached the semi-final of the Russian Cup after beating Lokomotiv 1-0 in a Moscow derby.
The teams went face to face in the Russian Premier League two weeks ago and CSKA thrashed the local rivals 4-1.
So Loko were eager to take their revenge in the Cup, a triumph in which was their only chance to play in Europe next season. But it was It was all CSKA in the first half. But the Army men failed to convert their possession into goals.
They had to wait until the 57th minute to open the scoring.
Milos Krasic raced to Loko's box, before putting Tomas Necid through brilliantly, and the Czech youngster made no mistake, 1-0.
The goal woke Lokomotiv up and CSKA keeper Igor Akinfeev had to show all his brilliance to save Diniyar Bilyaletdinov’s header from close range ten minutes later.
The hosts locked the Army Men in their box but the CSKA managed to keep the 1-0 till the final whistle. The Railway men had a great chance to equalize in injury time, but Dmitry Sychev hit the woodwork.
CSKA will face another Moscow club, Dinamo, in the semi final. The winner of the match up between FC Moscow and FC Tom will face champions Rubin in another pair.

There will be yet another side from the capital in the last four after FC Moscow booked their progress.
The citizens, as they're known, overcame FC Tom thanks to a winning goal from Hector Bracamonte.
But it were the guests who went in front first in the beginning of the second half through Dmitry Michkov. FC Moscow equalized fast – Aleksandr Epureanu pushed the ball into Tom’s net after a hustle in the box.
Miodrag Bozovic's men now meet league champions Rubin in the semis.
