Auto-throttles are not required for flight in most conditions, even landing in CAT II conditions. Most airline operators can allow this deviation. Could it be pilot error? Most likely. Was the training of the pilots properly managed by the air carrier? If not, that would fault the company.
It is absolutely AMAZING how the lives of humans are played with, without a care. How can you seriously put a plane in the air with the problems that this particular plane had, and not expect that there would be a possibility of a MAJOR DISASTER????? That was reckless, thoughtless, careless, and down right tragic to say the least!!! I would bet that if that plane were to be carrying animals of some sort, there would have been better care taken to ensure the security of the cargo it would be carrying!!! As painful as it is to say... more emphasis seems to be placed on the care of animals than it is on the well being of human beings......
