I have just read all the comments above,and have found them to be most,Disturbing,and frightening. Why? because its true.Its all in the holy Bible. book of . . US military Vet, June 15, 2009. You forget much of the Irainian arsenal is a very sophisticated makeup of Russian advanced weaponry. Do not underestimate their resolve. If I were surround by the foolish and wasteful, prolific polluters, greedy selfish Americans, I'd use the rights of nations status to defend my nation by any means necessary.

I think that it is a race for more power. These weapons can destroy the world. They should be able to talk about ways to prevent this from happening. When one bomb is set off then there will be more weapons of mass destruction used. And this will be a bad scenario.

I do not envisage or support any attack on Iran. This is simply because Iran has vehemently denied the propounded theory of an intention to build war heads. We must remember, as far as we have been informed that Irag had no weapons of mass destruction as originally made to believbe. Now Irag is obviously in the brink of collapse. What is expedient now is to ascertain the nuclear intention of Iran before any preemptive action is taken; otherwise the world would find itself into another escalating recession, which will be very difficult to bear. An advice for Isaerel and Georgia is not to allow any foriegn power to launch a missile against Iran from their bases. At worst, they will suffer most, because of their proximity to Iran. we should try very very hard to avoid another carnage that will destabilise the world economy. My observation from the statement of the Syrian president is that Iran will not be alone in any impending war, and this will further devide the region. What is most plausible is for the US to try tooth and nail to ensure that isaerel and the Palestanians become friends, brothers and sisters. This is the only move that will stabilise the region and bring peace to the western world.

Pause, what exactly was the outcome of CIS' "peaceful" help to the Georgians in the mid-90s? It wasn't a base in Abkhazia, a base outside Tblisi and a base on the Azerb border now was it? Aya carumba! It is amazing how quickly people forget their history. And spouting off some nonsense like those were for Georgia's security is insane. Russia has done more meddling in Georgia than the US could ever come close to. The US presence, I suspect, is based more on the BTC pipeline. Shoot, look at the location of their AFB. It is right next to the pipeline. Which is another story with the Russians p/oed that the Blue Supsa line wasn't used. But, hey, the Russians suggestion to go through Iran would've worked wonders for the oil industry, eh?

I don't agree with that opinion. Launching an attack from Georgia is stupid. First, the Russians using the stolen Georgian land can watch everything unfolding. Second, the US would not mount such an attack that close to Russia which would temp those fools to attack georgia again for not cause again.

The US has global long range drones to monitor Iran. Predators are capable of taking out at stand off ranges the the Iranian air defense missiles. The U S Navy has the ability to hit Irain in one strike with over 500 cruise missiles.( The converted boomers Ohio class that carry over 140 cruise missiles each x 4). The B2 Is capiable of of launching the MOP 30,000 lb to take out under ground targets. Will the US lose some aircraft, yse. But nothing comparied to what Iran would suffer. Iran might try and shoot some shore launched cruise missiles at any available US or western ships in the gulf in retaliation. But Iran will focuse it's land surface to surface missiles against Isriel. If they can't hit the US then hit one it biggest mid-east allies. An that is another story in it self. Let Iran suffer til the people get tired of it and rise up. We have time on our side. We can wait another 30 years or more.
