To Mr. Fred j. Robbins-Ferretti. Perhaps you should take yourself over to one of these Muslim countries considered to be more civilized than others.Let's take Saudi Arabia for instance and watch the stoning of a poor girl who was gang raped because the court felt she did not fight back hard enough. You dare call us viscious.

Not that it matters but here is what I think....1).The world needs a REBOOT , we're overopulated. 2.)America needs to take care of it's own Country before helping others.I hope we have our defense system up to date. 3.) I'm sick and tired of CNN/FOX news Medias filling their 24/7 time slots with these depressing Issues, why bother getting up in the morning. They discuss private matters about War Issues that should not be discussed..do they think the other Country's are not listning to them..Someone said years ago "If we don't have a World War every 60 years people will turn on each other" and boy are were there.4.)As far as Iran, USA stay out of it.....let them fight their own battles...

The big issue is whether the US government will get us into war with Iran. The fact that President Obama is a Democrat reassures those who believe that Republicans are more likely to get us into unnecessary war. Those who thought our previous two Presidential elections were stolen by the Republicans feel confident that this one was fairly won by a Democrat who thus will be less likely to push us into war. Unfortunately while President Obama is officially a Democrat, he was bought by Big Business before he ever started campaigning, so whatever positions he stated before the election were designed by think tanks probably run by Kissinger or Brzezinski to make him popular with the American voters and whatever he actually does will be based on what his puppet-masters want and not on whether he is a Democrat or Republican. You would think he would have the guts to actually be the President of the United States, but for some reason he would rather be an underpaid puppet and considers running the free world as "above his pay grade"

HAHAHA. Russian news and blogs are always so funny. They can't look at America without doing so through the glasses of Russia, and things don't work outside of Russia the same as they do inside. How long will it take for the Russians to lift their blinders?

I find this entire discussion fascinating. WRONG, but fascinating. I blogger posts an opinion -- 9 months ago -- was WRONG -- and now somehow it all flares up on the internet again and everyone is discussing it as though it has some sort of factual basis.

The internet can be a strange place at times.

I think you're all overloooking a couple of things. A) obama is exactly what chomsky called him. just another american president b) how lucrative another cold war might be c)the potential? (it's been a while since i've had the times) signing of the ukraine and georgia into nato and the corresponding actions of east and west. either way.... why not have a war on three fronts? the great delusion of americans regarding the iraq war is that we lost. we came in as imperialists and they're fighting each other instead of us! what ceaser would not agree?

This is all sooo not true... It sounds like somebody has too much time on their hands or likes to stir things up or maybe just not informed correctly!!!

I think America has to help to other pepole to get democracy, and help them to get educated and have them feedom because without help they can have all.

Iraq had WMD's America supplied them with anthrax, cs.gas, etc etc. During the Iran, Iraq
war. We gave them advanced warnings when we would invade yada yada yada. We know
they trucked out a lot of weapons and contraband in the months leading up to the war.
Saddam had a nuclear program this is easily provable. We know for a fact what their
ambitions were when Israel went in and bombed the Osirak nuclear power plant.
Obama doesn't have the fortitude to protect the US. Every day his lack of experience
shines brighter. With his 143 days or 20.4 weeks or 4.7 months of experience. in the
US Senate. A disaster waiting to happen.

Hey Clyde, if you'd do a little research, you'd find that republican presidents have gotten us into 3 wars in the last 150 years (including the civil war). All the rest were under democratic leaders. You calling republicans warmongers is not fact, it's just made up of uninformed, wishful thinking chuckleheads like yourself.

This is just more anti American fear mongering by people who hate America. I hope people will see the truth, and realize who told them the lie.

Hey yochanan,
That old line about what has someone been smoking, is really far too old, learn a new line please! It's as outdated as "Have you been popping the same pills as Rush?" "Hearing God yet?"
Then there is this article which is so outta date, I can't see why it is showing up in news search results today. This is stupid. And half the people replying seem to have not noticed the date of the article, and are replying as though it has something to do about anything, it doesn't, this is ancient news that was completely wrong, ignore it, it is not real! Wake up! Maybe this does have something to do with Kruschev's grave! In other words it's another communist plot! Now that's outdated for you, ok?

The election in Iran was never in doubt. They love suckering in all the pin heads who will spend weeks, even months blabbering about demonstrations that will come to nothing. All this is a smoke screen to get attention off building the bomb. O - blah, blah, bama can give all the feel good speeches he wants and it won't deter them one bit. What will stop them is when they cross the red lines that the Israelis have marked for taking them out. It's coming fast. These Mullahs that run Iran are hell bent on destroying Israel and dominating the Middle East. It will end when the Israelis end it. The world will be a lot better off period.

I'm British. I believe Obama has a rational and balanced take on America's position in the world and the legacy that he's been left by Bush and what a delicate, intricately woven situation he's got on his hands.

This article is dated 12 September, 2008, 05:50. It is now June 2009. No invasion by the USA. What happened to the insinuation that the USA would invade "any day now"?

quoteMary Adkins

June 17, 2009, 22:18

Okay. The White House and Obama cannot or will not give the state of California any help with there money problems, but The White House and Obama has the money to send our military to Iran. And do what there? Why doesn't the president go and talk to the president of Iran? And leave our military out of it.

quoteRowland

June 17, 2009, 17:48

The comment of Crystal, above, is so patently wrong I have to wonder if she is living on the same planet.

It was Obama's predecessors (esp Cheney) that got us into this quagmire, with their lies to instigate an unecessary war by mounting an illegal, preventive strike against
their former stooge, Saddam, who was starting to be problematical about his country's oil reserves.

Iran is a nation of young people--intelligent and wanting to be progressive. Obama addressed a detente and they responded by removing the antagonistic, militaristic Armenajhad, only
to have him respond, as Bush did twice, by stealing the election.

quoteCatherine

If you were familiar with what is going on in Afghanistan you would know that the call for more troops and equipment has been an on-going situation. War with Iran, highly unlikely. Obama won't do it. Iran will deal with it's present and future without the "help" of U.S. forces.
