> Wow! I can't help but to comment on this one. Who do you think is helping Iran with their nuclear project there? Russia is going to poke the US in the eye just like it did in Georgia. Yes, that is right folks. We are in no position to get into this conflict and they now it. We are BROKE folks! While Obama is trying to sit around a camp fire holding hands with the now Russian Prez, Putin is strategizing to absolutely embarrass us in front of the whole world and we are going to do nothing about it. What we need to start doing is calling an Ace an Ace! The reason for our current woes is because we like to do business with our enemies and think as long as we spread the wealth we can all get along. Hello! Our pearl harbor already happened for the second time (Economically) thanks to this strategy and we're sitting around still kissing our enemies [well you know what].. My God, when will our leaders WAKE UP!!! In fact the Russians are helping us move our milatary equipment to Afghanistan. What a bunch of nice guys! WAKE UP! I am not a milatary genius but I know that if one has knowledge as to where your enemies most valuable assets are and help to move it there, you can take it out right quickly within a couple of shots. We are in deep trouble here. God help us all.

Before believing anybody or anything, we probably should go back and check all the predictions and analyses they have committed in the past. It gives you the chance of seeing how stupid they were or not. In this case we would be better off to just ignore him since he clearly had no idea what he was talking about.

I don't know what the real situation is but it stikes me that there is a bit of sabre rattling going on.Russia and America falling out over Iranian oil whilst Iran is rattling it's wooden sword, giving John Wayne and his redneck mates an apoplectic episode. I can't see anything happening until or unless Iran gets itself to the same stage as North-Korea, then it won't have hurt to have some backup hardware handy in the next field put in place under cover of the helmand field events. Anyway anyone with half a grey or is it gray cell knows what will happen if someone starts chucking nuclear (no it's not nucilar. that's lazy english)warheads about. Having said that American leaders latterly have not shown a great deal of perspicacity so, I do hope Barak isn't geographicaly challenged. P.S George Dubbya's mate Tony might be able to help if he succeeds in buying himself the european presidency. If it comes to that we'll all be in the ????

If the tanks are landing in the East it must mean...USA is going to invade Pakistan!
After all the Paks really do have nukes unlike the Iranians (whose mullahs are still ordering there fighter jets up to chase after the spy satelites).

Read the dates on this. It was written while Bush was still in office, theorizing that the US would invade before the AMERICAN elections. Clearly that was not the case. Why, I wonder, is this being reposted now? hmmm

This story may be somewhat out dated, but the information is, in my opinon factual.
Come on, with Israel's new and reelected leader, "Biten Yawho" chomping at the bit to attack Iran, you can bet it will, by getting the USA involved, just when, who can really say
Who is really controling Washington!

In order for me to believe this, I would need CURRENT photos of US military hardware in Georgia. Combined with the fact that Iranian propaganda has firmly tried to lay the blame of the Iran situation on all Western countries (in the words of Khamenei, whose deaf ear is not only to the people of Iran), as well as the obvious propaganda machine which the Iran government has been trying to spin its internal problems (such as claiming that the streets were calm at the same time that the West was informed of violence, until it simply could not hide the truth any longer), and the irregularities which can be confirmed by analysis of televised election numbers on Iranian television--the evidence is overwhelming that the regime has become corrupt and and illegitimate.

This article reads at least 6 Mos. Old and a lot of nonsense! Ahmadinejad and the Religious Oversear's are tipping their hand due to their caustic Public comments and outrageously Violent reaction to peaceful demonstrations. Their people will take care of them somehow. Ahmadinejad and the others like him are foolish and dangerous! We might need to react to some provocation from these so called Heads of State. I trust that we will if need be! This cannot or should not continue to be the, State of World Affairs! I am not sure they can be reasoned with? Do you think the Middle East is Arming under the Table? Ha' Ha', North Korea or Somewhere in Central America? I hope our Security Operations are up to the challenge?

Seems a little funny that the date chosen to start withdrawing troops from Iraq is a couple weeks after elections in Iran.America need not worry, our pacifist prez will do anything, including degrading our citizens in order to make peace not war.

Oh please children. America is not going to be attacking Iran any time soon if at all... The only reason to attack Iran is to stop the producing of nuclear weapons which still is years away... We're not in any hurry, and perhaps if the regime becomes just a little more moderate we could strike up some dialog. All this fear is just bullshit put out there by Russia playing Iranian government for fools just as the government played their own people as fools. Even if Bush were still in office we would not be attacking Iran for a year or more..

I do not think decreasing our military might has done a thing but make us very vunerable. We have always been a peaceful nation but it is because we were patriotic and poweful, respected because we were repectable. To much is given, much is required. We were a Christian nation who loved our sister and brother unconditionally and was glad for legal immigrants to succeed. We helped our neighbors. I would like to see the draft brought back and patriotism taught in our schools and prayer restored. Our teachers upheld with repect and the adults regain authority, in and outside the home.

Whether or not you believe this story depends on the world you live in. The few times (Iran and the nuke) has come up I was reminded of how ignorant people raised in America are. Twice the same, almost exact words came out of seemily intelligent peoples mouths......"Why does the US think they should be one of the only few countries allowed to possess nukes, why shouldn't Iran be able to do or have the same".... The leaders in Iran have openly made it clear that they want to destroy Israel and the US. They have stood up and stouted this in parliment...."death to the US...death to Israel", supplied Hammas with weapons, rockets to fire indescremately into cities, and sent vollunteers to Iraq to blow themselves up along with dozens of people just doing they're daily shopping in markets. These people are crazy.
If there is any truth to this story, then it's because the Bush adminitration had the wisdom and smarts to at least give us the option to have the tools availlable to us in a very unstable region.
If it is true and all this equipment has been put into place, fear not of an invasion into Iran. Obama thinks he can calmly sit down and talk these crazzies into a stopping further nuclear ambitions.
The more countries that possess neucear bombs the greater the risk of confrontation, and the sooner an exchange takes place. That is why all but a very few countries back in the 60's signed the Non Neuclear Prolification Tready.

Why are they flying the tanks to the eastern part of Afganistan when Iran is on its western border? How are they (the tanks) going to cross the mountains?

This is obviously an older article that has resurfaced for whatever self serving reason someone has decided to use and minulpilate to their advantage. While the idea of invading Iraq isn't a new one, the circumstances that would possibly justify such action have changed dramatically. The increased nuclear desires and designs of a now questionable government that fradulently kept itself in power and is currently undergoing massive human rights violations is a sound basis to end this illegal governmental body and insure that the properly elected are given their due. Having Iran as a nuclear power in an area of the world that is notorious for it's instability is like placing a gun to our own heads. If you don't think so, talke a look at North Korea and how they are using what limited nuclear power they do possess to blackmail and intimidate the entire world. Unfortunately we now have a president that has no back bone. He will not invade Iran or any other country and they know it. Instead he will cower and surrender to any foreign government that threatnes to attack us in any way shape or form. Again if you doubt this look to North Korea. A blockade was imposed by the UN and all we will do is follow one of their ships around the oceans of the world. We will not board, will not block them., we will not do a thing to disuade this blantant violation of the UN policies for fear that Mr. Obama might be seen as a warmonger. He's more concerned with his political image than with the safety of the world. Everyone is so quick to blame Mr. Bush for his policies and actions. All he did was keep the US safe from a second attack from terrorists, kept North Korea in check and maintained a relative sense of safety in our nation. Who can claim they feel safer or even as safe now as they were one year ago?

quoteKen Richards

June 25, 2009, 12:32

Well, it seems that this paranoid scenario never did occur. There is no way Obama would invade Iran. What would be the point? More deficits and more problems? The world would condemn it, and the Iranian people would never tolerate it. What is to be gained? It's just stupid. Even dumber than invading Iraq, which was really stupid and has cost hundreds of thousands of lives and maimed and wounded thousands more.

War should be the last resort when our HOMELAND is threatened by an external enemy. That is why it is called the Department of Defense. The purpose should be to defend the country, not police the world. We need to shrink our military and stop playing empire so we can fix the mess here at home.

I agree with Mr.and or Mrs. Mc Cheese who commented earlier today. The US has no inttentions on invading Iran. Our president Obama has better things to do. Obama wants to amend and reason with them as civilized people, so that peace can be before all nations, which those that are running Iran aren't quite so civilized and or bright. We have enough great depression problems as it is.The president and Congress needs to be focusing continuously on our problems such as, employment decreases all over the United States. People are struggling everyday worrying about how are they gonna live with all that were going through now. The Media and the tabloids are something else, even when it comes to crime. The UNITED STATES WANTS PEACE and pretty much everyone who resides in it. Obama i believe is very head strong, unlike Bush.

The US has no intention of invading Iran. We have enough problems and we don't have a crazy President anymore... And even Bush wouldn't do anything that stupid - given his unpleasant lesson from Iraq.
