I have thought the same thing for a long time. Why would Obama leave troops in Iraq and Afganistan? Obama is following the strategy of W. That is to keep troops close by to be able to launch an attack on Iran.
In my opinion, Iran is one country where democracy would survive. If we just got the dictators out of the way the Iranian people are hungry for freedom and would take it from there.
My sense is that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon but they are building nuclear power plants. I think they just leave it open that they might be building nuclear weapons in order to have a barganing chip. For all the democrats that wanted the troops home, why has Obama not ended wars in Iraq and Afganistan?
Why is this crap article being advertised on google anyways? For starters, new presidency, no war. Also, just because the US has a bad opinion on another country, but does little action to correct such discrepancies, doesn't mean its saving up for a so called "killing blow". Maybe they have an honest opinion but have better things to do than start another costly war before the current one is completed.
Maybe the US will invade Iran next, but it won't be anytime soon. There's a mess to be cleaned up and that will be taken care of first. I am not too blind to believe that the leaders of my country are "innocent" in their war mongering ways (I didn't vote for Bush), but they are not stupid and the suggestions made in this article are hearsay and speculation to suggest a move that would be just plain stupid on the US's part.
I guess in the Internet age, any idiot can make news.
Let me first start out by stateing that there will not be a Nuke. attack by the U.S. towards Iran or any country. If Iran wants nuke plants,i say let them. Nuke. power is cleaner and cheaper use. People want cleaner air i say this is a win-win situation. All countries should be doing it.We have the technology, why not use it.Iran is a growing power, and its showing its growing pains. Some positive and some negative, but it will get there eventually and nations are going to have to except that fact. Russia did it and they havent nuke.any country.Neither has Pakestan,India or China! The era of Nukeing countries exsits no longer. Super powers would not let it happen.Tech. is here to stay and I say get use to it.

The only world order I see is the one in which there is no violence or aggression from one country towards another! The United States is not going to attack Iran. Hell, were trying to prevent Israel and Iran from tangling up with each other.Russia is probably feeling the same as we are about it. Countrys need governments to guide, but I personaly would rather listen to the voices of the people.
I really dont know what will happen between Israel and Iran. Maybe some how Russia and the United States can quill any aggressive actions Iran and Israel have toward one another. I have met people from both Israel, Iran, and they seam to be nice, courtious. I think these two countrys have the wrong leaders in office. And one more thing, Im getting tired of talking about this same subject. Can we have something new?

Get a grip -- the article you are commenting on was written last August -- 2008 -- so Bush and Cheney were the administration that intended to get us all killed!
In Bush's defense, by the end of his presidency even he saw what a mess we'd made in world and it is unlikely that he would have invaded Iran at all, through Georgia or otherwise. Besides, the US did not have the troop levels or NATO in Afghanistan at that time sufficient to mount such an offensive.
July 31, 2009. According to Robert Dreyfuss : "Robert Gates, Jim Jones, and other US officials traipsing in and out of Israel this week have told Israeli officials to stop "ranting and raving" about Iran for, oh, about eight more weeks".
And from the same article appearing in The Nation:
"...in a separate commentary in Haaretz, Amos Harel writes that the US is still giving Israel the "red light" on attacking Iran, but he suggests that Israeli treats are useful for Obama: "They allow Obama to wave the Israeli stick at the Iranians as part of his effort to get the Iranians to agree to a dialogue, and possibly even to concessions." Ominously, he reports on a US-Israeli joint exercise in Nevada:
"The talks on the matter opened just after a joint American-Israeli exercise at Nevada's Nellis Air Force Base. It was dubbed Red Flag, and included training on the in-flight refueling of Israeli jets by American airplanes. ... The American Air Force published a feature about the joint Nevada exercise on its web site. It reported the participation of a squadron of F-16i ('Storm') jets, the new model that will bear the brunt of long-range target attacks should the need arise."
Countries are alot like people, they argue . I call this saber ratteling. We already trade with one another,so whats the problem? No, I see no attacking either countries by the other. However, be careful how close you get to anothers border, political tensions could be high and a slight mistake could become a political embarishment, and a field day for the newes media. I see no nuke. attacks comeing from the U.S, towards Iran or Russia. What I do forsee is some lessioning of tensions toward all.
August 11, 2009, 18:52, James Martinelli wrote > Obama is going to get us all killed in no time at all !!!!
I doubt it. We don't have enough resources, not to mention we're having economic crisis. I don't really think we'd attack Iran. Not anytime soon anyway...
The U.S. is not going to Nuke or attack Iran. The Iranian people will take care of things them-selves within Iran. As time goes by,there will be changes in Iran.
While Russia and US have been friendly ememies in the past, I think Russia has more to worry about from China in the long run. China is quickly becoming a super power, their plan is to start building a blue water navy soon and start to build world class aircraft posible with Russia's or EU's help.
"I do not think decreasing our military might has done a thing but make us very vunerable. We have always been a peaceful nation but it is because we were patriotic and poweful, respected because we were repectable."
Here's some of the nations the US has been involved in militarily since World War II:
So, how did that prediction work out for you? Isn't it about time you started to realize that the US is not the "big bad boogey-man"? Being from the US, I agree that our leader ship around the time of this writing was far from adequate, in fact, it seemed to those of us who live here (those with minds and able to see beyond the crap and lies told us) that it was abysmal. We need to all work together, not stand across an ocean and skip rocks at each other day in and day out. I'm also tired of hearing Russians talk about conspiracy theories involving the US - don't you have enough on your own soil to worry about? Has Russia not been more than aggressive in the past (and present) in pursuit of it's own interests? In fact, it wasn't that long ago when the entire Gov't of Russia was considered barely a step above Terrorists themselves, especially by the common citizen. Let's stop this finger pointing and do something to be more polite to each other - with minimal work we could all be a nice friendly planet with Russians, Americans and the thousands of other nationalities all thinking of themselves as humans before anything else!
people its time you start reading the bible and understanding the middle east more and whats going to happen to certain countrys over their. p.s the bible tells everything.
The USA is not going to start a war with Iran, Russia. The article was interesting to read. But in reality, what we have is just a brainstorming theory. Nukes are bad, except for electricity. Better than coal. I believe every country should have nuc. plants. Cleaner environment. Also, Russia or Iran is not going to start a war with the USA.
Some points to ponder, Obama was hand picked, and 'created from the beginning' by Zbigniew Brzezinski during his years (1981-1983) as an undergraduate at Columbia University where Brzezinski was the head of the Institute on Communist Affairs from 1960-1989, apart from his time in the Carter White House. Obama chose to write his thesis on 'Soviet nuclear disarmament,' which is a subject that is right up Brzezinski's alley. You might say that Obama is Brzezinski's second puppet president, Jimmy Carter being his first. So the Brzezinski machine/trilateral commission/Soros foundations are the new 'neo-cons of the Obama presidency. Brzezinski's plan has always been war with Russia, because Brzezinski is a Russiophobe. But he thinks that he can force China into a war with Russia. His goal? A US-UK Universal Monarchy, or a 'New World Order.' The only problem is that Brzezinski's plan is well known by Russian leaders, for instance Russian government minister Ivanov was quoted as saying, "Russia has to remain strong culturally, economically and politically, otherwise, the Brzezinski plan may prove a reality."
