Lavrov: International police force needed in South Ossetia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that he hopes Europe will take an active part in the resolution of the South Ossetian conflict. He was speaking at a news conference in Moscow on Wednesday, following his

“We in the Russian Federation think it is necessary for the OSCE to make a decision about an international police force. We hope that the European Union can play a leading role in this process,” said Lavrov.

The two sides also see good prospects for future collaboration, said Lavrov. He told journalists that he's counting on the completion of a number of joint projects in a number of spheres, including the economic sphere.
