The Bolsheviks disseminated false information that they were searching for escaped members of the Tsar's family (AFTER the murder of the Imperial Family at the Ipatiev House in Ekaterinburg) so as to confuse investigators from the White Russian Army who were (after the town fell to their forces) trying to find out exactly what had happened to the Tsar and his family. Equally, the information referred to by Rax may in fact relate to the murder of other members of the Imperial Family at Alaepavesk.

The British Royal Family has always been extremely sensitive about the fate of their Russian relatives because it was the Tsar's cousin King George V who persuaded his government to withdraw its offer of political asylum for the Tsar and his family. This was in 1917 and the king feared that his own position would be compromised if the Tsar and his family came to England. However, following the murders at Alaepavesk and Ekaterinburg, George V was subsequently instrumental in arranging the successful evacuation by the Royal Navy of numerous members of the Russian Imperial Family from their Crimean estates in 1919 as the White Armies withdrew southwards.

There are numerous books about the Russian Imperial Family - I have about thirty. The easiest to follow is still Robert K. Massie's "Nicholas and Alexandra.

1. If missing bodies have been found, what of reports that the russians were searching for a missing princess prior to the killings at Ipatiev House.
2. The Russian authorities have had plenty of time to re-arrange the bones and contaminate with DNA prior to the recent mtDNA analyses.
3. The 'crime-scene' was not secured, can the scientists confirm that the bone fragments were recovered as claimed

Why hasn't Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip made any comment about the tragedy that befell their extended family? Is it because they are afraid their reign might go the same route and be destroyed? Is that why their relatives disinvited Tsar Nicolas and his family when they tried to flee after he abdicated? Recently, The Sovereign wore a tiara from the Russian family. Very interesting.
