The problem with most if not all muslims whether in Pakistan or elsewhere is that they can not see any thing without the prism of relegion. Just before the invasion of Iraq there were millions out in London street protesting about it myself included. Myself along with most British people, irrespective of colour of their skin or relegion were outraged about the barbaric act of the attack on innocent people of Iraq. But the difference is that the Muslims in general was saying it was an outrage on Muslims while to most of us the that the facts that Iraqis in the main were muslims was just incidental. W"e thought it was an outrage against humanity. Unless average Pakistani can not see a human being as just that and not as a muslim or a christian or a jew or a hindu ,until they come out of this mindset ,until such a time they send their children to school to learn physics, chemistry, mathematics, humainity, commerce and the like instead of sending them to madrassa ,,I am afraid there won't be any progress. They will always be a troubled inward looking Pakistani society, a victim as well as a perpretator of terror. They won't be able to see tree from the woods. And unstable Pakistan is bad for the regeion as a whole. If any pakistani disputes my point of view, simly ask yourself why is that Pakistan had been ruled by military junta for most of sixy years of independence. Ask yourself why there has been hardly any progress in education and other achievement in the field of human endeavour compared to India despite the fact that basically they are same people, with same ideas, same habits, foods, culture even relegion. I write in no malice but in hope.

Now I see everyone is trying to defend his own country/region (blindly, I said that because I am sure none of us knows what is the truth behind the things that are happening around us). Defending your country no matter what is nationalism..(umm really).. I guess, may be.. thats the trend as of now. With the progress of technology, world has become a small place.. We are all inter dependent. Things (positive or negative) happens in one country has its direct and/or indirect impact on others. I think its time we should come out of our nationalistic shell and think and act as a world citizen. I hope learned people of Pakistan realize what will happen if a nuclear bomb explodes at any part of world.

I don't know what is such a big issue of Pakistan having a Nuclear Bomb . If it has for its defence then as every other country it has got a right to it but there is no point Pakistan keep being vocal about it . Everytime its leaders attend any summit they keep saying "Pakistan is a Nuclear Power " . Pakistan knows what will happen if it uses it . So it can keep this Nuclear Bomb in some shrine or a Museum . This bomb is only a deterrence and will not help Pakistan to come out of its Economic problems and Internal security .

Don't think of Competing with India all the time . You are no match in terms of Population, Economy , Education ,Democracy and so on ... . The best thing for all Pakistani's is to stop competing with India , just concentrate on building your own nation and make the right choice in choosing any Nation as your friend.

You always count on China as your ally but have you ever thought once that how many times has China come to your help in all the wars that you have fought . They have not even supported you in any of the resolutions passed in the UN. They have just remained Neutral . So brothers think whom you call friend and whom you call Enemy. People will just take advantage of you.

quoteNaveed Alam

September 26, 2009, 08:18

This all is a fresh effort to try to make Pakistan a non-nuke weak country which is under the control of socalled regional super power i.e. India according to the new world order. In the presence of a strong Pakistan and due to its geo position, India is unable to safeguard the oil of middle east for the west. Once obstacle of Pakistan is removed, there is no one stopping India from controlling oilwells of middle east. Pakistan is attacked from inside(American and indian funded talibans) and outside (the fresh allegations against Iran and Dr A.Qadeer's letter to UK newspaper). Iran is just an excuse, the real target is Pakistan.

The reason Pakistan has got nuclear weopons is to deter other nations from attacking it.

How can those countries that have nukes think they can try to govern others by stopping them obtaining nukes, thats just double standards. Abit like me having a fight with someone and saying I was allowed to use a weapon and they had to fight with their bare fists, would'nt exactly be fair would it.

Why do every tom dick & Harry in Pakistan & abroad always make the generals the scape goat for their incompetence self indulgence & lethargy & most of all ignorance of reality! 'Crooked generals' indeed! What about 'crooked civilians?'

The Pakistani nation is brewing a stew which is so irrisistible to parties who have much to gain, to add more fuel to the fire, & finally consume all the stew to themselves.

Attack the generals, belittle them call them all sorts of derogatory names & rejoice for your triumph. You are actually rejoicing the triumph of your own downfall! Weaken them, & their men get demoralized. Congratulate yourself for just throwing your country into the mouth of a flaming dragon! Idiots, I don't think you still get the moral lesson.

Let me ask you simple questions? Will you be ready to go to the war zone if the country is attacked? Will you risk your life to defend the country ? Or will you gather all your material hoarding (gold US dollars, pound sterlings etc) & run for your life to a safe haven?

Think about these, before you start jabbing at the generals ! The Generals include the men in the lowest echelon is the ARMY !

The latest revelations of AQ Khan of Pakistan confirms the suspicions of many that the Pakistan government, its military, and the Chinese establishment were behind the nuclear proliferation to Iran and North Korea. What is alarming, based on these reporsts, is that the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI with support from their military is in communication with the Bin Laden gang and the islamic terrorist hiding in Pakistan. Their ultimate goal of course is to create the islamic bomb for the muslim umma which includes most Arab nations and Iran. Their sworn enemies being Israel, India and USA. It is time that the Western nations find out more about the Pakistan-China-Iran-Korea nexus. According to AQ Khan he was the point man directed by his government to provide the nuclear know how to Iran and North Korea. Recently Musharaf, another crooked ex-general stated that the American funding to Pakistan during his regime was redirected against India as needed for their defense. In others words, promoting terrorism against India, which may have been behind the so called 26/11 Mumbai carnage. I strongly recommend that all American future aid to Pakistan must be scrutinized by US congress and US auditors become involved to prevent this rogue nation from spreading future terrorism and anarchy in the world in the name of their twisted religious ideologies based on hate and violence. US Congress must also demand that our FBI/CIA interrogate AQ Khan since he is quite ready to spill the rest of the beans. This should be a conditional requirement for the release of any future US aid to Pakistan.

what i do not understand as a human that, is if due to Nazi`s jews were persecuted and gassed the reaction of so called Israel is illogical towards those whose lands they are occupying and on what grounds they justify killing innocent children playing on the beach by Israeli naval boats.USA should stop their own nuclear programme first, because she is the only nation who has used that during second world war over Japan.India and Pakistan should think on a more broad spectrum for the interest of their own people instead of becoming world player and the core issue of Kashmir shold be resolved according to the wishes of Kashmiries

First of all, one must understand its in our blood ( Indians & Pakis) that we are never happy seeing anyone doing better, thats why we fight as we know we dont tollerate each other ,thats why the white folks along with some of our people start wars for personal gains, which we end up putting our nation 10 to 20 years behind. We fund in deterrance from each other and dont feed the hungry in our country.WHAT A JOKE, WE HAVE WEAPONS TO DEFEND OURSELVES BUT NO FOOD TO HELP OUR BABIES GROW.what a shame! We people dont learn from our history or mistakes we are ruining our country and others are sitting and laughing at us , and we our asking these other nations to help distroy the other, its a shame even after INDEPENDENCE 60 years ago we have not changed even after we fought lost lives we get it weare still the same .LOOK at japan Korea, China these countries have changed and grown look at us we are still fighting to servive by killing our own people .WHAT A SHAME!
We are ready to shoot the other down without any questions WE WERE ONCE BROTHERS for a common cause, after that we grew apart and now the same thing is happening and we blame USA, UK . IF WE ARE RIGHT WITH OURSELVES NO ONE CAN DISTROY US NO ONE DARE DIVIDE US .
LEARN ONE THING USA NEEDED IRAQY PEOPLE TO HELP THEM THROW SADDAM LIKE WISE OTHERS ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THE ONE WHO WILL SELL OUT AGAINST THEIR OWN MOTHER TO DESTROY US .
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT , INDIA DOES NOT WANT PAKISTAN AND PAKISTAN DOES NOT WANT INDIA ITS JUST FOOLISH TALK.USA MAKES MONEY BY SELLING ARMS TO PAKISTAN AND INDIA THATS ALL FOLKS ITS TIME TO WAKE UP AND LEARN OUR LESSON FROM THE PAST WILL YOU WAKE UP ?

Firaz Khan is right in his comments, save that a little fine tuning would put the matter on course. In that 94% of the USA population have no idea what is going on outside their country. The discreet zionist rulers of America invariably manipulate and impose American Interest in poor and almost all Muslim countries. These dirty games are put in action exclusively to promote zionist agendas. I would leave it for the readers to look for the hidden meanings of the term "American Interest" - (be warned, you might be shocked).
Any established and recognised country has the right to utalize nuclear power resourse. America or any other country has no right whatsoever to interfere. American zoinists must always remember that to the last count America has over 7,230 Atom Bombs and Israel is said to have over 2500 Atom Bombs. Before calling other a devil, the devails should map their deeds. These born racists are suffering with their intrinsic defects and simply cannot tolerate any Islamic country to prosper - is it not called Islamophobia?

whatever is for the good of humanity should be done;nuclear power is the cheapest source of energy today;nuclear blasts destroy humanity;it is the duty of muslims to look after all creations of Allah.Use knowledge;do not abuse it.Pakistan should act responsibly. If the Indians had thought about Pakistan positively and acted as the bigger brothers;moved for helping Pakistan in its problems;the people of the subcontinent would have gained. We have destroyed our resources in the most useless exercise of "security".we did not have to do that on the iranian or afghan borders.why India?

Jang and Geo are known to disgrace Pakistan. The randis of Pakistan are financed by the enemies of Pakistan. Geo and Jang are known to start controversial topics in Pakistan and create divisions between the people. There was absolutely no need to start a topic like this one. Has Geo or Jang ever started a topic that will denounce India as well? Think of Geo logo colors! Aren't they the colors of Indian Flag? Doesn't Geo shows most of the time a Pakistani map with entire Kashmir a part of India.

Disgrace ? In my opinion you are a disgrace for saying this. Do u remember the irresponsible statements issued by the leaders in India after the last round of Nuclear testing??? That was a disgrace and it was put to an end by what this man did for us. He is a hero for us. You can whatever you want.
@ SC
Sir can you plz tell me what happened in Gujrat and Orisa?? was that a part of the love and affection for minorities in India. ??? get a life man.

i could not understand one thing still that why mostly nonmuslim countries are woried too much abuot pakistani nuclear weapon why?
as all eu countries have nuclear weapon . they think that if non muslim country have nuclear waepon its ok but if any muslim country have nuclear power its not ok they should not have nuclear power and this the mantality of those people who think that pakistan should not be a powerfull atomic country. othere wise there is nothing going to be....pakistan is a peacefull country and wants this peace and calm in all over the world.

pakistan has atomic weapons for same reasons as israel, india ,china, france,uk ,ussr and usa. Preaching to pakistan about nukes is like ladies practicing the world,s oldest profession giving a lecture to school kids on "how to live a moral life". So please leave pakistanies to sort out their problems and I am sure they will be fine . thanks

First time I read a pakistani newspaper and some coments.I am surprised to know how ignorent and hateful people can be.Pakistan do not need bomb to deter India because India has nothing to gain by attacking Pakistan.Recapturing lost part of India is like eating poision and all Indians know that.I have lived in India and studied there, they are proud of their 5000 years of heritage and that includes Muslims and Christians. They love and respect SalimChisti,Saibaba,Mother Terasa and Church of Vellancani all non hindus.Pakistan's problems are they do not respect their languge, culture, history and even religion.Once they start respecting them self and stop looking to Arabs as their godfathers and stop looking for enemy they will be better off. Mohammad Ali Jinna was a genious and he did not visit any Arab country for advice.

Ref: Abdul Jebbar comments June 20 2009 21:00hrs
I do not wish to become embroilled in arguement as to whether Dr A Q Khan was right or wrong in what he is alleged to have done. But I will take issue, and stand to the defence of my country!
I assume that this person lives within the borders of the UK, under its protection and social support. As such, he is free to express his views, be they complimentary or otherwise. He obviously has very emotive views on the subject relating to Pakistan and in particular Dr A Q Khan.
I just wish that he would confine his comments to the subject matter and NOT be insulting toward the country (the UK) in which he resides.
He belittles the UK as follows "...record of all big powers including USA, USSR, midget Britain, France, and whatnot else." He seems hellbent on offending others as best he can in an effort to prove his point. Which, inpoint of fact, he fails to do in a most miserable fashion.
I am British, and extremely proud to be so! We are fast becoming a multi-racial country and we are seen by many as a "soft touch".
So please, Abdul Jebbar, do not belittle the country which supports you, protects you and allows you the freedoms which you choose to treat with total contempt.
If I am mistaken and Abdul Jeddar does NOT live within the confines of the UK - then I have just wasted my time.
However, my resolve remains the same!!

Cadman

Refrence my earlier comments on the subject. I have noticed with regret that people are trying only to fulfill their personal agenda and damaging our beloved country as well as Pakistan. To-days news show that heavy amounts were paid and received by those who claim to be angles during 1992. What is the explanation and justification?

Pakistan is unfortunate that even after 62 years searching for a sincere leader. No leader has ever shown himself beyond his own selfish motives and think about the country. Look at the present leadership. They see no problem in Pakistan except one problem. Shame on us.
