“Stabilising Abkhazia and South Ossetia will take decades”

Political analyst from Russia Profile magazine Roland Oliphant told RT that while the two states now have their independence, they're still very much dependent on Russia.

“Stabilising the region is actually a very long and very thankless task and it takes a lot of money as well as decades of time. They can't stand up without Moscow's help,” Oliphant said.
