The war in South Ossetia began when the Georgian army started an operation ‘to restore constitutional order’ in the then breakaway republic. It included massive shelling of the Ossetian capital Tskhinval with multiple-launch rocket artillery. The assault was shown on Georgian Rustavi 2 TV channel.
