Moscow film festival inspires bike marathon

Across the country in 88 days – a Russian cyclist will travel 10,000 kilometers on his bike in a journey from Moscow to Russia’s Far East.
The main reason behind the long-lasting race is not to enter the Guinness Book of World Records, but to celebrate the art of cinema in Russia.
While the Moscow Film Festival is in full swing, cyclist Nikolay Evmenov has set off on his journey on June 24 in order to reach the city of Vladivostok in the Russian Far East right in time for another film fair – the Pacific Meridian festival, which will kick off on September 19.
The journey is almost four times as long and demanding as the Tour de France, which lasts 23 days and covers 3,500 kilometers. Upon reaching Vladivostok, the Russian cyclist will have a chance to watch more than a dozen of films from around the world at the Pacific Meridian fest, running from September 19-25.
