Over two hundred artifacts have been borrowed from the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, including portraits, clothing and jewelry, as well as furniture, porcelain armory and even musical instruments.

“We’ve never held such a large-scale exhibition in Russia, simply because the Hermitage museum doesn’t have so much space, but we’ll definitely show this selection of works in our country, though I don’t know yet where we can find the right venue,” the director of the Hermitage, Mikhail Piotrovsky, told the Rosbalt News Agency.

The Hermitage craftsmen have restored up to 500 objects of art displayed at the Hermitage Amsterdam museum. The exhibition also features pieces from Aleksander Sokurov’s famous film on the Hermitage museum’s 300-year history “Russian Ark”, which the renowned filmmaker shot in a single 90- minute take.
