Hadise: ‘I’m no copycat’

‘A Good Kiss’, ‘My Body’, ‘Milk Chocolate Girl’… What reads like the table of contents in a seduction manual is actually the titles of songs.
Twenty-three year-old Turkish pop star Hadise is praised for her sex appeal and strong vocals, but doesn’t like it when she is compared to Beyonce.
“As an artist, I don’t like to copy anyone. A lot of artists inspire me, but I’m not a copycat of anybody,” says the come-hither singer.
After Hadise’s second rehearsal at Eurovision in Moscow, she confessed “she’s never satisfied as an artist.”
“I’ve been working real hard in the last couple of months. I’ve completed two albums, in English and in Turkish, which will be released in two weeks.”
Hadise will represent Turkey with her single, ‘Dum Tek Tek’. “This song fits me so well. It boosted my career and changed my life.”
Although Hadise was born and raised in Belgium, she says she considers herself a Turkish artist. “I’ve achieved beautiful things in Belgium. It’s time to do something for Turkey.”
One of the first semi-final participants, Hadise will perform her hit on May 12.
