Being a queen with “BeeQueen”

Published 29 March, 2009, 19:43

“Femininity with a touch of modernity.” That’s how the designer of the Italian brand, Bee Queen Chicca Lualdi, describes her latest collection, now on display at Russian Fashion Week.

Lualdi says she makes clothes for a “modern girl who wants to be glamorous while remaining very feminine. She is eager to project her personality through elegance and style.”

Lualdi’s career in fashion began 12 years ago. She’s worked for such renowned brands as Etro, Alberta Feretti and Gianfranco Ferre. She set up her own brand, BeeQueen, two years ago. “It’s very challenging and gives me a lot of enthusiasm,” notes Lualdi.

She has a tip for aspiring designers: “Practice makes perfect! – If you work hard you’ll fulfill your dreams.”

In an exclusive interview with RT, Lualdi said she doesn’t want to design luxury collections but beautiful things of very good quality and value.”

The designer behind the “BeeQueen” brand doesn’t like clichés – neither in life, nor in her profession.

“People tend to think about fashion as something playful and easy. They are wrong! It’s a very severe industry and you have to work hard in order to succeed.”
