Dasha Zhukova, girlfriend of billionaire Roman Abramovich, has put up a massive plasma screen above Moscow to showcase contemporary art.
Zhukova, one of Russia's elite and owner of a successful clothing line, has come up with a new way of bringing modern art to the people.
The exhibit, titled 'Moscow on the Move’, showcases both Russian and international artists whose video projects are displayed on the massive screen hanging over the Moscow River.
The latest project of Zhukova follows her recent opening of the Garazh Arts Center earlier in the year. She thinks it is perfect for those who enjoy art, but don't have the time to make it to an actual gallery.
“I think there are very many busy people in Moscow and many of them may love contemporary art, but they may not have the time to go out to a museum. Everyone is always in a rush, so I thought, how fun, a nice way for people on the way to work to get a glimpse of this beautiful piece,” said Zhukova.
In this financially uncertain time, a free exhibit may just be what people need.
