Agent Orange Effects : Diabetes Type 2, Hypertension, Scholderma, Soft Tissues, Nuerophy feet and legs, Can't Walk, Melanoma Cancer, Brain Tumors, Inconent, and much more. USAF Reasurch stated that Melanoma / Prostate was from the Agent Orange Chemicals. Prostate Cancer was added to Agent Orange List, so why not the Melanoma Cancer. Believe its Discrimation, one but not Melanoma Cancer Cancers come from a Cell, so if some cancers are on the list why not other cancers? They are still finding issues coming up all along, so if he has all of the Effects from Agent Orange, why wouldn't you claim Melanoma too? Please write all Senators and Comgressman, let them know your feelings. Maybe if we all jump on board maybe something will happen. Appreciate all help. Thanks Jo Ann / Wife and Caregiver
My husband was a Vietnam vet in 69/70, he died in 2005 from Gastrointestinal Disease like many other vets his claim was denied . He started having poblems not long after he was discharge. He went from one Dr. to the other. always misdiagnos. Finally in 2001 he was told he was in stage 3 cancer and we can not tell you how long you have to live, because it is a very slow growing cancer. My husband always had Ins.he tought VA was only for those that had no Ins.VA ask him when he started getting sick why didn,t he go to the VA what would that do ,they would still say it was not connected to Agent Orange. My husband also had PTSD,Thyrod problem, enlarge Prostate Heart Disease, Diabetes ,Hearing Loss and Cancer he was a soldier on the ground. Now after forty years they are telling them they should get tested. They should have located all these guys and told them what they was expost to. ,They were able to find them when they draft them.
My husband Ev was in Vietnam 1967-68, USMC being in charge of the DMZ and he was exposed to Agent Orange. If there are any people who served with him and have problems, please e-mail me. He passed away in 1999 and was extremely ill for years before his death. We had 2 more children after his return in 1968 and wish to know if there are any affect on them. How about their children? Thanks
My brothers have all been affected with dementia or Alzheimers. They served in Viet nam, and at least one of them was in Da Nang. They were first dagnosed in their 50s. We hear the stories of otherVeterans, and I know that there has to be a connection to the exposure to agent orange. In fact I found in my brother's folder a brochure with information about agent orange that he must have been given I guess we will never know. War continues to be the sports of kings.
I have a close friend who served his country back in the late 50's and early 60's. He was first based at Fort Supply in Arkansas. There he was exposed to the agent orange chemical used around the base to experiment on just how this chemical would work. What was terrible, was the covered up by the Army, was the men who survived this training, were told to "Keep Their Mouths shut." So my friend lived in fear that he or others would be exposed for saying anything. I'm the only one he broke down and told about this. Today he is being treated for a skin problem he has developed on both of his arms, which are very scaly and dry and has the color of orange. The VA knows about this agent orange, but still nothing is being done to help these veterans who were exposed to this. Except being asked to keep quite. Anyone who had sons or brothers or daughters who were in Fort Supply during this time, could be exposed to this as there were also soldiers who died while at Fort Supply. Today the base has been taken over by the National Guard, and several buildings have been burned and there are more to be cleared off during this time of service. As it's been told, this chemical can not be cleaned up even on the base grounds, so they are burning everything. But why the Army is being so secretive about this is really a bad idea, and not being truthful to what they actually did. It's not that all veterans are wanting to be paid for their suffering, it's the bad way the Army is treating them over this. They want the truth out.
my husband died from cancer two years ago.was a medic in vietnam.as i was reading his medical papers from the VA it said he was exposed to agent orange. i did not know this but our son was born with multilpe disabilities.i always felt it was due to being exposed.where can i get more info on this. thanks
I was in Danang in 1970-71 and I was exposed to agent orange and when I came home my first 3 kids died premature and I have skin rashes,type-2 diabetic.hypertension,va refused help me. I helped this country and they gave Vietnam vet no respect.
I have lost r-leg below knee, I am loosing the use of my fingers on both hand's I have diebets type-2 ptsd, i'm fighting to keep my left foot, I do get paid for ptsd. But the VA has denied the other claims. I was in the First Cav. Div. A combat infantryman from 1965-66. When we got off the troop carrier and was taken to our base camp at An-Khe. it was just a jungle. two weeks later it looked like the desert. Our water supply was contaminded with Agent orange, our food was also contamined. we were dirlectly sprayed. and told it wouldent hurt us it would only kill all the green folage around our new Div. Base camp. The surviver's of the Ia Drang Valley. Nov 14th through Nov. 19th 1965 are now Being Killed by The agent orange that was sprayed on us. and out of the 135 original men who went to VN with Aco 2nd Bn 7Th Cav First cav Div. there are only 7 of us left. How soon the country forget's. and our corupped government is the country that make's the rule's. when we are all dead then they will finally omitt that Agent Orange Killed a lot of us and they are sorry they diden't do more. Well , I think they are pretty sorry NOW. So much for oboma's health care if it is moteled using the VA systom. dnelson
My father Joseph Flying Horse Sr. was in Vietnam and has been 100% service connected. He has a lot of medical issues and has turned to alcohol. I have been taking care of him for about 10 months now and it seems that he is hiding a lot of his conditions and his pain. I too think that i suffer from Agent Orange. I have two daughters with chromosome translocations. They are 14 and 11 years old now and have been in a school/home for disabled children. When i had my first daughter i was in the navy and they had done genetic research on me and the father and i found out i was the carrier for the gene and passed it on to my daughter. they cannot speak or do anything for themselves. They have been in the home for about 3 and a half years now because they were to heavy to lift and the cares seemed more appropriate at the school. I was told that there was only 8 other cases reported when i had my first daughter and the chance of me having another with the same genes were only 30 percent. I had longed for the chance of having a "normal" child so I had my second daughter. She too had the same chromosome abnormality. The chromosome translocation was 6 and 12.They have cleft lip/palates, cysts on their head and organs, mental retardation, are nonverbal, cerbal palsy, hypoglycemia, slow growth/ weight gain, epilepsy, heart problems like what is on the left side of your heart is on the right vice versa, they are always sickly. I had also one miscarriage before my first daughter. My two daughter life expectancy was 12 years of age. All of my life I was caring for my daughters. I am now single parent again and it is really hard for me emotionally and physically to care for them at home by my self. The nearest school/ hospital for them is 6 hours away and I am trying to have somewhat of a normal life by going to college and working and plus taking care of my dad whom i love so much.
My uncle was also stationed in Vietnam has has developed terminal lung cancer. He was not a smoker. Va pays everything. Not that that is a substitute for his life, but his wife will not be responsible for his medical bills.
I WAS IN VIET NAM (1968-1969): JUNE 1986 I WAS DIANOSED WITH SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA-AS A RESULT OF EXPOSURE TO AGENT ORANGE...MY ENTIRE HARD PALATE AS WELL AS A PORTION OF MY BONES IN MY FRONTAL GUMS - HAD TO BE REMOVED. AFTER UNDERGOING SEVENTEEN YEARS OF RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY, VA CONTINUE TO DENY MY CLAIM.MY DOCTORS THINK AGENT ORANGE EXPOSURE IS CAUSATIVE.VA THINKS NOT... THANK GOD NEVER HAVE THEIR BEEN ANY OTHER HEALTH ISSUES...I'VE BEEN FIGHTING A LONG TIME... IT APPEARS AS IF THEY WANT US TO DIE OUT... BEFORE COMPENSATING.IS THERE ANYONE ELSE HAVING BEEN DIANOSE WITH - SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA??? GOD BLESS.
i john would like to say while i was in vietnam i sat in the fields as they sprayed these fields i just do not understand why it is so hard to get benefits when we lost our health for a cause
i would like to know who and how to contact persons or agents to recover from the agent orange effects i was in vietnam from1967 through 1967 and fromyear to year i have been breaking down.
I was in Vietnan 68 /69 with the 20thBrigade Engr jungle eaters I have PTSD which compounds many physical and mental problems. I was dianoised with Multiple Sclerosis 3 years ago of course no one knows how or were it comes from. I m Afican American about to turn 60 with no history of this in my family or back round. My doctor has made some indication that it could be associated with the exposer which I was tested positive for. The VA will not touch it are you aware of any others that suffer with MS. Tell me how I can find out more about this posibility.
I have read all of your comments and questions above. Recently I was diagnosed with being bipolar, panic disorder, and agoraphobia. My older brother has anger issues (and other issues NOS). My daddy is a Vietnam Veteran and was never sick a day in his life. All of a sudden (approximately 58 years old) he has lived with and dealt with coming and going from the VA hospitals in NY for the last 7 years. He is a proud man and would never talk about the war. He has had to deal with coming and going on and off presciptions such as antibiotics and other "medications" the VA says he should take. I have several concerns in regards to agent orange the side effects and what it did to our upstanding US citizens who served their country and did the honest thing (some even getting drafted like Dad). My dad has had several boughts of lung infections, diabetes, and a left leg that looks like it should be cut off because it never heals. I am concerned because now that I've been diagnosed with these mental disorders, Dad's constantly sick, and my husband is currently serving active duty of 18 years in the Army, served in Iraq and in field artillery. I am only looking out for us as concerned citizens. But I am starting to get frustrated because no matter where I look there are no concrete answers. I have read on several sites the Vietnamese people have side effects from this deadly chemical (even animals like Oxen killed) how could the US government be so neglectful and ignorant. Even a poor country like Vietnam has acknowledged this. I'm out of choices and I JUST WANT SOME ANSWERS!!!! To those above who have lost someone or is dealing with the inadequate health care, my prayers go out to all of you!

James Haley Hospital has one of the highest death rates and our veterans are given this kind of care and the VA reps the majority are for the VA not the Veteran.. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE TO PAY YOUR CLAIM ON A LIFE POLICY TO YOUR BENEFICIARY ..even if you never have taken medicine for a mental/nervous condition isn't there a lot of veterans that have PTSD and function fine?? Or am I the one that thinks this is wrong of Insurance to consider PTSD a mental disorder?? That the company is right for denying the claim?? VA felt there was never a claim for it? or almost every symptom related to Agent Orange but diabetes???
my husband served two terms in nam .he developed parkinsons and died a horrible death.we had no help at all i was his caretaker but he had to enter a nursing home for the last six month. we paid $10000.00 a month and had no help at all. now i read that agent orange is also causing parkinsons and i want to know what to do next
Husband has all Effects from Vietnam and Agent Orange. Veterans Affairs ( Will Not Claim ) Hypertension, Melanoma Cancer and Brain Tumors. Thanks J Stalter / Wife and Caregiver / litehousegrannie@aol.com
Mrs. Olson, I would file a claim for Type II diabetes since it is automatically considered a cause of Agent Orange. You should see a local VA counselor to file this claim ASAP and judging by your statements, he shouldn't have any problem.
