Drivers ram Timoshenko's house 35 times

There is nothing like waking up to the smell of a fresh pot of coffee and the sound of… a car smashing into your house.
Did you just say 'the sound of a car smashing into your house'? you ask. Yes, I did!
Such is the reality of poor Aleksandr Timoshenko.
Timoshenko lives in the western Siberian city of Barnaul. Apparently the city isn't far enough away from the crazy, reckless driving habits of Moscow where people drive fast and with their eyes shut.
In the last five years, 35, I repeat, 35 cars have flown off the road, barrelling into Timoshenko's property and leaving little more than a shredded blend of fence and car spewed across his garden.
The 35 'mishaps' no longer surprise Timoshenko who somehow retains a sense of humour.
“The first (accident) laid a new road, the third, let's say, repaved it,” jokes Timoshenko.
His house is located at the start of a sharp 90-degree left turn.
Drivers, it seems, have their feet glued to the gas pedal. Once they realise that the turn is coming it's already too late.
Timoshenko has taken measures into his own hands, reinforcing his yard with concrete blocks.
So far, the drivers have been lucky, getting away with only minor scratches.
Aleksander's tolerance is rarely appreciated. He says most drivers don't even appreciate that they’re alive and never utter a word of apology to him.
“And they don't rush to repair my fence either.” adds Timoshenko
While it seems absurd that people can be so inconsiderate, he still manages to crack a smile.
Occasionally, one of the reckless drivers makes an effort to fix what they’ve broken.
“One time, someone compensated me for the damage with construction materials.”
We should all be thankful that people like Aleksandr Timoshenko still exist in this world.
But perhaps we can thank him best by offering him a piece of friendly advice: Hey buddy, maybe it's time you moved.
