Suicidal survivor: death bid foiled despite train hit

A suicidal man has miraculously survived after being hit and run over by a train in south-western Siberia.
It’s believed the man stepped on to the track as a train was approaching.
“He appeared not to hear the warning signal or just ignored it,” an eyewitness said to the police.
The train hit the local resident as it was trying to stop and ran over him.
But when the terrified driver went with the police to recover what was left of the victim, they were amazed when they found the man alive and only mildly injured. He had concussion and a broken leg, doctors said.
The man, who had been living alone after a divorce, said he had wanted to commit suicide.
