Obama Vs. McCain: who’s Top Cat?

Published 19 October, 2008, 11:23

Barack Obama and John McCain are attending a cat show in New York this weekend – but they’ll be more interested in preening than politics. Obama the Bombay cat and an American shorthair called McCain are going head to head at the Cat Fanciers’ Association Championship.

Any talk of the global financial crisis will give way to the most pressing issue of the day: the prestigious title of Best in Show. It’s much tougher than the race for the White House, with hundreds of felines, from over 40 different breeds, in contention.

The aim of the show is to promote the welfare of cats, with a special adoption event allowing animal lovers to bring home a new pet.
