Do giant footprints belong to Siberian yeti?

A new yeti mystery has emerged in north west Siberia after a man found giant footprints in the snow. The prints are human in form but three times as big, and the steps are much wider apart.
They were found and photographed by a hunter, Viktor Kanayev, from the Yamal peninsula, inside the Arctic circle. He made his discovery just 10-12 kilometers from Salekhard, the capital of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous region.
“Those trails do not match any animal inhabiting the tundra of the Yamal peninsula,” he said.
It’s the latest in a long line of occurances which have inspired the story of the yeti. Just a year ago an American expedition in Nepal reportedly found several footprints in the mountains over 2800 metres above sea level.
Legends about the so-called Abominable Snowman are centuries old. Traditionally, the yeti has been described as a huge anthropomorphous creature. In Tibet, it is rumored to have both helpful and dangerous magical abilities.
The first photos of yeti’s footprints were taken back in the 1950s in Nepal by Britain’s Eric Shipton.
But despite years of rumours and supposed sightings, so far, no one has presented definitive proof of yeti’s existence.
