Scientists in Switzerland have temporarily halted work on an experiment to smash atomic particles together at the speed of light. A faulty magnet at the Large Hadron Collider near Geneva forced the postponement. A spokes

Scientists say they were expecting to have some technical setbacks during their experiment.  They've already had to replace a faulty transformer.

The massive collider is preparing to smash particles together at close to the speed of light in order to create a mini Big Bang.
