Rubin wins most important game of the season

In the Russian Premier League, Rubin Kazan have increased their lead at the top to nine points after beating their nearest rivals Dynamo Moscow 1-0. While Amkar Perm has climbed to third after a win in Yaroslavl.

The crowd didn't have to wait long for the first and only goal. It came after just 2 minutes, as Sergey Rebrov was on hand to put the ball past Dynamo, after Kabze's shot had been saved.
The Ukranian veteran has notched up his third league goal of the season.
Dynamo poured forward in the second half in search of an equalizer but Rubin’s defence stayed firm. And the home side had an excellent chance to put the game beyond doubt, with time running out. But substitute Aleksandr Ryazantsev chose to go it alone, when he had Semak and Adamov free.
Rubin held on for all three points, which now leaves them 9 points clear at the top of the table.
Krylia Sovietov 3 Khimki Moscow region 0
Khimki, from Moscow region, are rooted to the bottom of the table after a 3-0 defeat to Krylia Sovietov. Jan Koller – the man who was instrumental, as he stretched one of his huge legs to prod the first home, with half an hour left.
And then five minutes later a beauty from Budylin’s free kick made it 2-0.
Anton Bober scored the third from the spot kick after Koller was brought down in the box.
Shinnik Yaroslavl 1 Amkar Perm 2
Meanwhile, Amkar are just a point behind Dynamo in third after their 2-1 win over Shinnik, who remain in the relegation zone.
Shinnik took the lead through Dennis Boyarintsev, after the ball fell to him just a few yards out. But Amkar were soon level, as a fantastic effort from distance by Georgi Peev left the keeper stranded.
And the visitors got the winner in the second half. A well worked move putting Djumovic went through, to seal the points for Amkar.
Spartak Nalchik 0 Lokomotiv Moscow 1
Lokomotiv Moscow gained a much needed win at Nalchik, thanks to a Dmitry Torbinsky’s lucky goal just before the hour mark.
CSKA Moscow 4 Luch-Energiya Vladivostok 1
The Army Men beat Luch-Engergiya to leave the visitors hovering just above the relegation zone.
Alan Dzhagoev scored for the CSKA five minutes before half time. Then Wagner Love doubled his side's lead after the break following good work from Yury Zhirkov, just about bundling the ball over the line.
But Luch did pull a goal back with 20 minutes to go. A quick free-kick caught the home side sleeping, and Igor Shevchenko finished well.
However CSKA saw off any late comeback, Milos Krasic making it 3-1 with ten minutes left. He added another shortly afterwards.
