Waving posters with “Ukraine is not a brothel” written in various European languages, the Femen activists called for a no-entry list for known sex tourists and harsher punishment for pimping.
If the authorities fail to react, the girls say they will take the streets again this autumn, reports the etoday.ru website.
Ukraine holds the grim record of being the leading source country in Eastern Europe for human trafficking.
A study by the International Organization for Migration revealed that roughly 117,000 Ukrainians have been forced into exploitative situations in Europe, the Middle East and Russia since 1991 up to 2006.
