There may have only been seven games in the Russian Premier League at the weekend – but there were twenty goals. At the top of the table Rubin's lead was cut to a single point by Amkar. And if you missed any of the action you may now enjoy goals galore from week 13.
Amkar 2 – 0 Luch Energia
The win saw the Perm side close the gap on leaders Rubin. They are now just a point behind, but Kazan have one game in hand.
Spartak 1 – 5 CSKA
CSKA crushed their main Moscow rivals Spartak in the capital’s biggest derby with a five goal blitz.
Brazilian international Vagner Love bagged a first half hat-trick in the 5-1 drubbing. He scored his first after some woeful Spartak defending. He then doubled his tally with a great header before knocking in his third, going one on one with the goalkeeper just before the break.
Things got worse for Spartak as Milosh Krasic added the fourth, another header.
Nikita Bazhenov did get one back for the red and whites.
But CSKA weren't finished as Erkin rounded off the 5-1 win. Most of the Spartak fans had left the stadium by that time.
Shinnik 0 – 0 Krylya Sovetov
The game saw few opportunities from both sides. The Yaroslavl side control the game but didn’t make the most of it. Shinnik are now third from the bottom.
Dinamo 4 – 2 Lokomotiv
The home crowd enjoyed a goal bonanza from Dynamo.
Aleksander Kerzhakov got their first to make it 1-0. But straight after the break the visitors got an equalizer. Peter Odemwingie found himself unmarked and side-footed the ball into the net for Lokomotiv.
However, that was as close as it was ever going to get. In the space of ten minutes Dynamo hit three more to wrap up the game.
In the dying moments Bilyaletdinov scored for the visitors. But that was it.
Khimki 1 – 4 Zenit
Reigning champions Zenit thrashed outsiders Khimki 4-1.
It took Russian international Zyryanov 27 minutes to open the scoring. And just three minutes later right back Aleksander Anyukov showed good skill to make it 0-2.
The home side weren’t giving up though. Dragan Blatnyak found the net after this brilliant shot from distance.
Though any slight glimmer of hope they had soon faded. Viktor Fayzulin made it 1-3 to settle the issue. And star man Andrey Arshavin got a fourth after coming on as a sub – further indication he's likely to stay at the club.
FC Moscow 0 – 0 Terek
FC Moscow were hoping to move into the top half of the table but it finished goalless against Terek.
Tom 1 – 0 Spartak Nalchik
A late goal by Tomsk’s Skoblyakov decided the rendez-vous of the two mid-table clubs.
So, Rubin are still on top with 26 points. Amkar have just one point less after twelve games. Dynamo, Spartak Moscow and Spartak Nalchik are close behind.
