Medieval knights invade Lithuania

Published 11 June, 2008, 11:32

The Lithuanian town of Trakai has been transformed into a medieval battle field for several days. Dozens of knights jousted with each other and laid siege to a replica fort with cannon and flaming arrows.

The participants of the 10th medieval festival took advantage of the long hours of daylight to plunge into the history of the Great Duchy of Lithuania.

There was plenty of time and space for archery competitions and duelling. Less warlike visitors could try their hand at blacksmithing and pottery.
