State Duma relaxes visa laws for Champions League final

Published 08 May, 2008, 19:12

Russia's lower house of parliament has passed a law to relax visa restrictions for foreign citizens attending special events. The new legislation was prompted by the all-English Champions League final to be held in Moscow on May 21.

The idea of a line stretching from the Embassy all the way to Buckingham Palace was a frightening one. But the Russian parliament has found a way out.

Now fans with a ticket and passport will be allowed to travel without a visa.
