Vis-à-vis visas: Zenit ask British to relax rules for UEFA Cup Final

UEFA Cup finalists Zenit St. Petersburg have asked the British Government to simplify its visa procedures ahead of next week’s crucial match in Manchester.
The Russian champions will take on Scottish side Rangers on May 14.
The club, who thrashed Bayern Munich 5-1 in the semi-finals, wants the UK to follow Russia's example. They want supporters with tickets to be able to cross the border without having to apply for a visa.
The Russian government stated earlier this week that Manchester United and Chelsea fans would be able to travel to Moscow for the Champions League final without the usual documents – as long as they have match tickets.
UEFA president Michel Platini has also got involved, lobbying the British Foreign Ministry on Zenit's behalf.
The British Embassy has already announced that Russian fans wanting to see the St. Petersburg side will be given priority over visas.
All other categories of applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
