Carpet-weavers shine in Ingushetia

While most carpets are now produced by machines, for some in the Russian Republic of Ingushetia it's still all about ancient traditions. Knot after knot and row after row weaving the magic of a handmade carpet in a striking combination of colours, Rosa Tangieva has won many prizes and fame for her masterpieces.
The hours run into days as Rosa Tangieva works, weaving her rugs just the way her ancestors did centuries ago.
“In my craft you need to be extremely diligent and patient. A lot of people are surprised that I can work hour after hour. But for me, being at the loom is like resting,” Rosa says.
