No business like snow business in Moscow

Published 11 March, 2008, 16:41

Thanks to a new indoor ski centre, winter will now last all year around in Moscow. Even in summer the temperature at “Snezhkom” will not rise above -5 Celsius.

The snow is made by a special ice-crash technology and there are billions of ice-crystals weighing five tonnes.

First class sliding is guaranteed, and it may be even be better than on a natural mountainside.

“I have been on the indoor slope in Dubai, and I think this one is better, it's longer, and it feels like home. I like it!” one of the visitors said.

From the outside it's a giant tube, and inside there is a 400-metre long and 60-metre wide ski-slope.

Fans can also rent equipment and even warm clothes here, so that you don't have to drag your skis with you in summer.

Snezhkom General Director, Nikolay Gusev says there's nothing like this in Russia and he is sure both skilled skiers and beginners will like it.
