136 cats in a small apartment

A resident of Novosibirsk in northern Russia has been adopting unwanted and abandoned cats for the last fifteen years. Now, as a result, she shares a tiny three room apartment with 136 of them.
It all began fifteen years ago when as a student Nina Kotova, whose last name means ‘cat’, was persuaded to share her dormitory with an abandoned kitten. Then, when she got her own place, she decided to help more and more, eventually adopting more then a hundred.
All these cats are waifs and strays that would be trying to survive on the streets if it wasn't for her kindness.
Feeding time causes a great deal of excitement – and individual bowls just aren't an option – it's something of a feline free for all.
Conditions are cramped but, compared to a life scavenging on the cold streets of Novosibirsk, these cats are fortunate.
Nina just wishes she had the money and space to help all the city’s strays.
