Samovar: a Russian word every foreigner must know

When temperatures fall below zero in winter there’s nothing better than a cup of hot tea, especially when the water is boiled in a Russian samovar. These old-style metal water-heaters vary in size and shape, but they always conjure up the same romantic atmosphere. But the history of samovar is not only that of serving tea.
