Ghost train goes awol in Argentina

Published 28 December, 2007, 09:50

A driverless train in Argentina sped 150 kilometres across the country before being brought to a stop.

It reached speeds of up to 70 kilometres per hour, forcing police to close all railroad crossings to avoid a disaster.  Fortunately nobody was injured.

The runaway finally came to a stop after ploughing into another train, left in the way on purpose.
