Mickey Mouse has invited 400 children from across Russia to see the Bolshoi Theatre’s version of Tchaikovsky's ballet “The Nutcracker” on New Year's Eve. All the children asked to the charity event are kids with special needs.
Mickey first came to Moscow in 1988 for his birthday. Since then he's only visited the Russian capital for the Pirates of the Caribbean premier in May.
The legendary character was not the only one in town to entertain the Russian kids. Disney princesses Cinderella and Snow White as well as Prince Charming were also there.
But not only children were thankful and excited. The founder of one of the most enterprising charity funds, Give life's Chulpan Khamatova, said he hoped they managed to create a little Disney land for the kids.
According to the Chinese horoscope, 2008 is the year of the earth rat. So, even if the appearance of Mickey Mouse on stage at the Bolshoi Theatre doesn't bring luck to those in the hall, it definitely brought loads of joy and smiles.
