Swedish research sends Santa to Kyrgyzstan

A Swedish company says it’s proved that if Santa Claus wants the most efficient starting point for his Christmas deliveries, he should base himself in the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan. So has St. Nick packed up his elves and moved to the mountains?
Forget Lapland, if you’ve got to deliver presents to a world full of kids in one night, apparently there’s only one place to be – Kyrgyzstan.
The Swedish firm say that numerous factors, including the Earth’s rotation and population densities of children, make this the best place on the planet for Santa to be on Christmas Eve.
But after hundreds of apparently trouble-free years at the North Pole, could Santa himself be convinced on a change of scenery?
