The nervous nail-biting is over as teams from across Europe have discovered who their opponents will be in the first knockout stage of the Champions League and the UEFA Cup.
Russian interest was concentrated in the UEFA Cup with both Zenit St. Petersburg and Spartak Moscow handed tricky ties.
Premier League Champions Zenit's credentials will be tested to the maximum by Villarreal. The Spanish side are sitting pretty in the Primera Liga, currently occupying fourth place. The first leg will take place in St. Petersburg.
Meanwhile, domestic runners-up Spartak will travel to Marseille for the first leg of the tie against the 1993 European Cup winners.
In a remarkable twist of fate, should both Russian sides win their clashes, they will play each other in the next round.
